My program of research focuses on the relationship between human resource management practices and organizational outcomes. In particular, my recent research looks at the effect of skill-, motivation-, and opportunity-enhancing human resource management practices on innovation and organizational performance. Also, I have several studies that focus on human capital development through the use of skill-enhancing human resource management practices, such as training. More broadly, I am interested in understanding how workplace practices and employment arrangements contribute to employee outcomes both at an individual and family level.
